The good news is that there is a hospice in Chimaltenango that is willing to take little 5yr old Ingrid who has AIDS. It is a home for children with HIV and AIDS.
The bad news is that her 7yr old brother has now taken very ill. He is in the hospital alongside his sister with high fevers and flu like symptoms. They have put the family into a quarrantined section. The father called me this morning and he said that they will have the results for the son on Wednesday.
The father thanked me this morning and told me that he “didn’t know what he would have done if he had’nt found Mayan Families”. We have paid all the medical fees for the tests and medication for Ingrid, we have paid for the food for the father in the hospital and his bus fares back and forth from Xela to Panajachel to get more funds to be able to buy diapers, baby formula and whatever else was needed for Ingrid.
Thank you for everyone who has donated to the Medical Fund. It is so important for so many people. It means a huge difference in their quality of life and care.
My problems seem very small compared to this poor father and the tragedy that has hit his family.
